As a freelancer interpreter in Shanghai, I work bidirectional between Mandarin-English. Being a professional interpreter, I’m good at all types of interpretation (consecutive, simultaneous, whispering, tours, rehearsals etc.) especially with areas of architecture, construction, entertainment-related business and corporate negotiations.

With interpretation/translation experience working as an in-house interpreter for almost three years for the Walt Disney Company in Shanghai, I’ve supported hundreds of language tasks including press conferences, business negotiations, large events, trainings and forums. I’m also capable of providing language services for conferences on public/government relations, media, advertising, tourism, laws and regulations. I’m confident and competent to consistently provide clients with high-quality interpretation services. During my four-year undergraduate study at Guangdong Foreign Languages School (GDUFS) in English and translation/interpretation related subjects, I accomplished my first interpretation task ever with Guangzhou Asian Games in 2010 as a volunteer, where I did consecutive interpretation in a press conference for a soccer game. After awarded the BA degree, I received an offer from University of Leeds, one of the leading campuses in Europe training interpreters for international institutions like EU, UN and European Commission. Upon graduation from Leeds with an MA degree in Conference Interpreting and Translation Studies, I landed myself a job with Walt Disney Imagineering-Shanghai, as an interpreter helping out with architects and engineers designing Disneyland in Shanghai. As a giant joint-venture type of business, Shanghai Disney Resort worked with top-class contractors and suppliers in many cutting-edge fields during its design and construction phase. I was fortunate enough to be widely exposed in such multi-disciplinary process of setting up a theme park, and became skilled and adept at interpreting for meetings/discussions that covered a variety of topics in architecture, MEP, new materials, ride equipment, BIM and other advanced technologies.
