I have studied the Japanese language at the Hiroshima YMCA Business College in Japan and passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) level 2 in December 2005. I am currently enrolled at the Nihongo Center Foundation for review classes for JLPT level 1.
I worked as interpreter/translator during my full time employment at Taiyo Yuden (Phils) Incorporated, a semi conductor manufacturing company, where I acted as interpreter for Japanese engineers during meetings, training and audits. I also did translation of training manuals and other company documents from Japanese to English.
In my eight and a half work experience at IBM Business Services, I have also done interpretation during meetings and conference calls between the Philippine team and Japan team.
Apart from IBM and Taiyo Yuden, I have also done part time interpretation jobs for such companies as Toyota Boshoku, ROHM, OMRON, Flluor Daniels among others. The topics discussed during these interpretations jobs differ but I was able to handle the job properly because the clients provided me with documents related to the topics to be discussed ahead of time.
