-25+ years of experience in Japan -Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level N1 (2001) -extensive experience with Japanese education systems and related government initiatives -constant use of Japanese in personal and professional life -experienced translator

I have lived and worked in various areas around Japan for over 25 years. I obtained Level N1 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT - top level) in 2001 and actively use my Japanese proficiency skills constantly in both my personal and professional life. I have experience working with Japanese educational administration teams and Boards of Directors at Japanese and International Schools with regards to obtaining, implementing and sustaining accreditation of various International Baccalaureate (IB) education programs. I have delivered workshops about IB education in both English and Japanese and have counselled many Japanese families, in Japanese, with regards to educational matters and tertiary education guidance. I worked for two years as an independent freelance translator from 2000-2002 for Transbureau Translation preparing English translations of various genre Japanese documents. I also translated a 400 page document on the Gifu transportation system from Japanese to English for the company of a past colleague.
